I made my first chili crisp in February of 2022 because I had seen a video of someone making ramen using peanut butter and chili crisp as the base and I had to try it. Fast forward 1 year later, I've made countless versions using various chili flakes, oils, nuts and seeds, even mushrooms and vinegars...but the recipe I landed on is definitely the winner. Well, the two recipes, I guess. The original has the traditional chili flake, garlic, shallot, olive oil mixture as well as crunchy peanuts. The Sesame Chili Crisp has - you guessed it- sesame seeds!
I've heard a lot of differing opinions on this but personally, sesame is my favorite. My mom's favorite is the original (which is why it is the original because I have to make it more often).
Anyway, I hope this blog and this chili crisp opens up more opportunities for me to connect with other foodies and chili crisp lovers. Mostly, I pray that wherever this path takes me, I am living according to God's will. I trust that He is leading me and that this new adventure is BLESSED!
