So I am just taking a quick moment to organize some thoughts and tie everyone in on what I've been up to.
You may have thought that I gave up after a few weeks of radio silence but fear not! For I have only been very busy with life and aspects of this business that are not very interesting.
I had my grandfather's funeral, and my birthday a week later so basically it's just been an *interesting* couple weeks. Honestly, I'm just so ready to get away and shut off my brain for a few days, but I'm gonna earn it!
SO.
I have been working with a business consultant at the Small Business Development Center out of UNC for about a month now. If you are a small business owner or are considering opening your own, I HIGHLY suggest checking them out. The consultants are all experienced business owners and most of them have owned businesses with hundreds of employees at a time. I don't even know if I will ever get to that point, but it is nice to talk to someone who has the knowledge that it takes to get there.
My consultant is so knowledgeable on the numbers and spreadsheets and actual business running things that I am so uneducated on and really just don't want to do, but I understand that it is maybe the most important part of running a business! So it works out well for me, because I have all the lofty dreams and product ideas, and he brings me back down to earth and makes sure my product is profitable.
Anyway, I am still working on getting a retail and manufacturing license so that I can sell my product. Next will come sourcing of ingredients, because I will not be able to use Amazon like I have been. Then I will need to find a commercial kitchen, and finally- MAKE SOME CHILI CRISP.
That's all I have for you now.
Stay Crispy,
Kara
